You mention ergonomics here Bring back classic look? - #5 by fox - Themes and Plugins - Tiny Tiny RSS: Community at the end and I really think this commit has severely damaged the light theme’s ease on the eyes. It actually hurts my eyes, to be honest.
it mostly depends on lighting, i guess. anyway this could be built as a separate light-higher-contrast theme which would satisfy everyone with no effort, and default goes back to lower contrast.
